Hi there, I'm currently a freshman in high school.
I'm really into economics and international affairs, so I was searching for some good summer activities, and I found out about the Yale Global Scholars Program. They had a perfect program about politics, economics, and global affairs, and that intrigued me. But then, on other websites, they say expensive camps don't really look good on your resume, because it shows that you just wanted to increase your chances at that school by buying your way into an easy camp.
I'm not considering this camp just because I want to improve my summer activities list and get my way into Yale, but because I really love the topics and the school. Any advice? Would this really look bad on my application?

It won’t help to get you in most likely, but it won’t hurt IMO, particularly if you show a passion for the subject. It is very important to do things that excite you and make sense for you. If this program is it, that is fine. Do not live you entire HS life in search of developing that perfect resume because it never happens and you will end up miserable.

Exactly - do it because you want to and your parents can afford it. It will have zero impact on your application to Yale, neither a positive or negative.
