I am currently a junior in high school. My school offers the opportunity to take electives online. I was considering taking an elective online and then dropping one next year. I’ve also been considering taking economics and this other class that counts as a social studies credit over the summer. This would give me a lot more space in my schedule, especially considering that i’m taking three AP’s (Chem, Bio, English). It would give me time to work without stressing me out with all nighters. Would it affect my chances of getting into college?
Don’t take AP Bio and AP chem together. Too time intensive with labs and lab reports added.
Do take online classes if you think you can manage - start with one over the summer and go from there.
Would these electives be displayed differently on your transcript?
I assume you mean required electives? Dunderhead type classes?
Of course you can get into college. But if you have a particular college in mind, you should run this plan part your guidance counselor. At happykid’s high school, lots of the seniors had free periods during the day that they used for all kids of indeoendent projects, internships, etc. no one had problems finding someplace to go to for college.
