<p>More than likely I'm going to go to Cal Poly Pomona, and I'm wondering if gas will be a problem. According to Google, it will take around 26 miles to get to school, so a round trip will be 50 miles and about an hour of driving a day. I know that freshmen are required to live on campus, but will it be cheaper to commute to school after my freshmen year? </p>

You may be exempt from living on campus freshman year, check the list in the link above.
You can try to schedule your classes so you don’t have to be on campus every day.</p>
<p>Add more time to the commute if you leave your house before 9 a.m.</p>
