I got a C in precalc but if I get an A for calc, would that C affect my chances of transferring? Would the school I plan on transferring to overlook that C and all that C will do is harm my GPA a bit?

Thanks!

Most likely an admissions officer will look favorably on an A in Cal after a C in Pre-Cal. It shows you put work into what you were weak in. I’m guessing both courses were in college? If not they may look at the difficulty differences in the two but an A in Calc is a plus. If you really had to work to get the A in Cal you may consider asking your professor to write one of your letters of recommendation as admissions officers would love to hear you put work into and went the extra mile to improve in a subject.

Best of Luck!

Thanks alot Idivine! Yeah both courses are in college.

If your precalc class is transferable, then they will. (it probably is) But they will take everything into consideration.

same situation with me

u can never be too sure, i would retake it if its possible that u do so.
