Would I be a good candidate for Questbridge or Should I just apply RD?

Hi, I was wondering if I would be a good candidate for Questbridge? I am also wondering if one were to apply for collegematch and be rejected from all colleges, would one have the chance to apply RD through the common app?

To me, there is no downside to applying through QB. If you make finalist all your application fees are waived. If not, there are still selected QB schools which will waive your application fee. My son applied, wasn’t chosen as a finalist, but two of his schools chosen for a match (NU and Yale), waived his application fee for RD. He was accepted to NU and waitlisted, and then chosen off the waitlist at Yale, where he will attend this fall.

P.S. I wouldn’t be discouraged if you didn’t make finalist as it’s more likely because of the low EFC they are looking for (i.e. close to zero). Ours was around 3.5K. My son only applied RD to 3 of the QB schools (Brown, NU and Yale) and was also waitlisted at Brown so he received no rejections.

@littlewing,

As posted I in a previous thread:
Not being matched is NOT a rejection. If you are not matched with any of the schools you list for the College Match, you CAN apply to them RD through QB by requesting that QB forward your application and then following up with the individual application requirements of each school as listed on the QB site. You can also add colleges to your RD list. You will let QB know which colleges to forward your app to by Dec. 15th.

Here’s the link to the RD page from QB: Application Process: QuestBridge Regular Decision

Sorry, the link didn’t copy…
Here’s the RD link to QB: [Application Process: QuestBridge Regular Decision](http://www.questbridge.org/for-students/ncm-regular-decision-process)

I’m also wondering could I replace my scores on my RD application through Questbridge? For example my Sat score in October and my SAT2s in November.

@littlewing

From the QB site under [Standardized Testing](QuestBridge)

QuestBridge will accept any test scores that you receive prior to the National College Match application deadline of September 30, 2011. If you expect to receive scores after September 30, please list your testing date(s) on the “Testing Information” page of the application, leaving the score fields blank. If you are selected as a finalist and want to have your new test scores considered for the College Match process by the colleges you have ranked, you should request that the College Board and/or ACT forward your scores directly to those colleges. Any testing done after October will be considered only in the Regular Decision process.
