Would i be able to drop out of an AP class?!?

I’m a high school junior and taking two AP classes at the moment, one is AP Art History and one is AP Psychology. I’m doing pretty well on my AP art but no so well on my AP psych to the point of failing. Its 3 weeks from now until the end of the first quarter and i still couldn’t catch up to the pace of my other classmates; I personally feel that I could not handle AP psych and its a bit too much for me considering that my classes last year weren’t honors or advanced. The class itself gives out a lot of work/quizzes. In addition, I couldn’t follow along with the teacher. I have a low F in that class right now when first quarter’s almost over. I’m failing that course and I know that if I withdraw now, it could affect my transcript and especially, colleges looks into that. But I would do anything at this point to switch out because I know for a fact that I wouldn’t be able to continue and improve with an F since it’s still a failing grade. Also, even if i continue the course, I still cannot process the information because I wasn’t at the same pace with everyone else since the beginning. Therefore I’d really like to know whether I’d be able to switch out once I consult with the guidance counselor. And I’d also like to know what other aspects would dropping an AP class affect (?)

If you’re going to fail a class, I say drop it. Why would you want an F on your transcript? If you’re going to stay, study the textbooks you got and catch up.

Our local high schools would give you the 0 in your GPA just for dropping the class after the second week.

This is the local school’s decision. OP needs to talk to his/her teacher and guidance counselor.
