Both of my parents were born in Cuba and I am the first generation if my family to be born in the U.S. As a Cuban-American, would I be considered a URM under the hispanic section?

Here’s an old thread

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/hispanic-students/641650-hispanic-latino-defined-aka-am-i-hispanic.html

I think you qualify. If you’re not positive, ask your GC what box to check.

Hello and welcome, I have moved your thread to the Hispanic Students forum.

Please read post #1 of the above link. If you identify as Hispanic, then yes, you would be considered Hispanic for the college admission process. The Common Application has a drop down box in which you indicate your Hispanic background, ie. Cuba.

Please see the Resources sticky thread at the top of this forum, it has lots of information about past results, scholarships, summer opportunities, fly-ins, etc.
