Would I be considered an 'out of state' Student? California??

I was born in California and lived here until the age of 6…Then moved to UT.

I graduated high school in the state of Utah, moved back to CA with my family right after I graduated high school in June 2003 - am I considered a resident, or will I always be considered an “out of state student” because I didn’t go to high school here?

I am not familiar with the resident rules… Thank you.

you have to live there for a full year and have documentation to proove it, such as a cell phone bill. to your instate adress.

So you are still out of state.

VincentPerricone: Why would I be considered an out of state? I have lived here for 2 years. I even have my California Drivers License...

I just want to know that if I apply to UCLA I won't have to pay the crazy out of state fees... I talked to my Cousin who lives in Santa Monica and she told me that unless I went to high scholl here in CA (for 2 years) all the UCs will consider me an out of state student... I didn't believe her, so I need some FACTS... Anyone??

As long as you or your parents have paid state tax in Ca for more than a year, you are a resident.

zagat: Thank you... I just called my mom at work and she told me the same thing... I just about had a nervous breakdown.... OMG thank you...
