Would I get accepted to UT? Chances of getting into moody college of communication

Description:
In-state
Asian
Class of 2019 (Currently a junior)
Top 10%
GPA: 3.85
SAT: 1280 (MY first SAT. I will be taking one more in March)

Experience/Significance:
I was co-editor at my school’s newspaper team and currently editor in chief. I recently helped my school’s(which is a pretty newly established school) journalism program open a media team as well. My grandpa used to own a small newspaper publishing company in NYC so I guess that’s where the blood comes from

BTW I’ve taken 5 AP classes and will take another 4 AP classes next year!
(WHAP score: 3)
Please help me and share your thoughts to relieve a little of my stress about college~~~
-idk if gender matters but I’m a female-

You are on the fence. Since you are not in the top 7% so it is a reach for you, but it is good that you are in the top 10%… Your SAT scores are in the middle, per Common Data Set, UT’s 75%/25% scores are 1410/1140. You do have good EC’s for your major. I think it is going to come down to your essays. If they reflect the passion for your major that you seem to have that might get you into the yes column. I think you are going to have to have patience until February or so. I hope you have applied to some other schools as well because you are an auto admit to any other public Texas school.

what major are you applying to

Broadcast journalism @postAlone

A higher SAT score would help you a lot because your predicted GPA will go up and be higher than a lot of applicants who arent auto admits.

It looks good to me, but I think higher test scores would definitely help. Have you tried the ACT. Can’t hurt…

No one knows though!
