My school's grading system is quarterly and for the 3rd quarter I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a C in one of my classes. Since I'm pretty sure that my final transcripts show all of my quarter grades, is it possible that a school will withdraw their admission because of this C?

Sorry if I sound like I'm overreacting, but I'm applying to some elite schools and I would be devastated if I got into one of the reach schools only to have my admission withheld. I heard of one kid that almost couldn't go to Tufts because he started slacking in the second semester but it wasn't nearly as bad as mine (I'll have As, Bs, and this 1 C which is my first ever in high school history). Safe to say that my first semesters were fine as my semester grades were straight As.

with that said, I am most likely going to get As (worst case scenario 2 B final grades)as final grades in all of my classes except this class, which will be a B. So should I be worried then?

are you sure dude?

depends on how you did in the course for the first half of the year… if you were riding on a b- then its no big deal but if you had an A that would raise so questions

I got a B first quarter and an A second quarter- that’s a semester grade A. Is that bad?

^Eh, it’s not desirable, but pull up whatever you can and, whatever you do, don’t get a C for your last quarter.

hmmmm i would ask your college counselor. i do not know about your school but my school doesnt report quarter grades they do an overall average but if you got lower than a c+ they will report it individual to the colleges

No need to worry about this. If you are accepted and later have a dip in your grades with a few Bs and a C, your acceptance will not be rescinded. This would be the case even at the most elite schools.

thanks a lot guys, and don’t worry I’ll definetely get at least a B 4th quarter. you have made my mind at ease :)
