I have just found out today that I’m admitted to UCD for fall 2013 as a transfer student with the condition of admission being:

“Complete all transferable in progress or planned courses with a GPA of 2.80 or higher, with no grade less than “C,” by the end of your spring term.”

My current GPA is 3.30. However, my SPRING GPA would likely end up being 2.64. I’m wondering if anyone know whether or not UCD would rescind my decision because of this?

They are talking about overall grade. However, you still don’t want to get anything lower than C tho.

Really, are you sure? Did I interpret it wrong? OMG Thanks!

I’m pretty sure what I said should be right. If you want to make sure call your department where you got accepted from. Google the college department and ask for adviser. They will give you specific answer.

I say don’t risk yourself getting a c… Try your best. C is not a safe zone either

Thanks for the heads up pYoshina, I admit I slacked off this semester and I am willing to try my best to not get that C. However, that C is quite probable since SPRING ends in 10 days for my school. So I want to prepare for the worst atm.

Right now, I’m getting two different interpretation of: “Complete all transferable in progress or planned courses with a GPA of 2.80 or higher, with no grade less than “C,” by the end of your spring term.” from 4 people.

One of which means 2.80 OVERALL GPA. The other, 2.80 SPRING GPA. CAN ANYONE CONFIRM WHICH ONE IS RIGHT? I’M NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO SLEEP UNTIL I CAN CALL ADMISSIONS ON MONDAY IF NO ONE KNOWS THE ANSWER

UC’s will rescind people on a case-to-case basis. If your performance for a particular semester is far below par of your stats advertised on your application, they have grounds to rescind you. You’ll need to contact Davis asap as “Complete all transferable in progress or planned courses with a GPA of 2.80 or higher, with no grade less than “C,” by the end of your spring term.” This means that courses which were in progress (not yet on your application). If your spring semester grades were the only grades not yet on your app, then you have violated their terms and need to contact them immediately to see if you can work things out.

I would like to know also

They’re talking about OVERALL GPA. However, part of your conditions also says that you cannot earn less than a C for spring grades. No matter what your GPA for the spring term is, you cannot earn a D or F in any of your classes for spring–if you do, you must explain why and what you would do to make it up. Back when I was a UC Davis hopeful (now a current student), I had a D in one of my spring classes at community college, but because my OVERALL GPA was still above 2.8 (I had a 3.1 GPA) and I indicated I was going to retake the course over summer, my application was not rescinded.
