At either NYU or Carnegie Mellon?
I'm an African-American sophomore.
And I kind of screwed up my GPA by getting a 3.2 last year.
This year, I can easily pull off a 4, and next year I'm taking 3 APs, and the rest are honors classes.
Also, I'm taking Algebra II over the summer at a local college, so that I can take Honors Pre-calc next year.
Would I stand a chance with a cumulative GPA of 3.77?
Here would be my list of ECs:
-Over 100 hours of community service
-In woodwind choir and flute choir at school
-Does fencing at a local club
-Member of the Youth Boston Symphony Orchestra
-Member of National Honors Society
-Key Club member
-Audition for the Sr. SEMSBA orchestra twice, and was accepted both times
I'm also a good writer, so I should be able to sumbit an impressive essay.
Oh, and I'd be a Psychology major.

NYU would still be a reach, that school is seriously competitive and rejects kids with GPA’s over 4.0 every year. But if you do really well on the SAT that’d help your chances a lot, and write killer essays and get good letters of rec if you need them. Idk enough about carnegie mellon lol…but good luck!

Okay…well then can you list a few colleges I’d have a chance at?
How about Union?
