Would I have a good chance with this SAT score?

hey, got a 1920 composite on the SAT, maths-700, cr-570, writing-650
will take the SAT again and aiming at 2000 atleast

I hope to get into the following colleges: UC Berkely, UIUC, GeorgiaTech, Purdue, UT Austin and U Michigan.

also have decent ec's, very good grades, and hold the head boy position at my school

Do you think i have a good chance at these places with such an SAT score?

Very, especially with a 2000+ SAT score

lets suppose i don’t get a 2000 and remain at 1920, then what?

Your options are still large assuming that your GPA is above 92 and that you have decent amounts of activities.

Obviously a 2000+ can only help you. I recomend taking it at least one more time to improve in at least 1 category.

That <600 CR is going to be a huge liability at top schools, specifically Berkley.

all you really NEED to do is bring up that CR into at least the mid 600s

don’t really know my gpa- i am an international student and take the ‘a’ level cambridge board.
but for my sophomore year, i calculated some sort of gpa from my 10th grade boards and got 3.96 out of 4.0- i don’t really believe it but that is what I got from the official cambridge examinations website.

I agree with the mid 600’s sat cr plan, but its kind of tough as i am an international student who is not acquainted with the american style of english

hmm, now thats a tough one. then you’re really gonna have to hit the books…tho i don’t understand how you got a 650 on writing if you’re not familiar w/ “american style” english

I also suggest taking the SAT again.

Is money a concern or can your parents pay $50k per year to go to any of these schools?

money is mostly covered up but my parents would pay that kind of money only if the university is extremely good otherwise there is no point.
