I’d say you have a very decent chance. If anything, I’ve learnt that Carleton puts a large emphasis on your personality and the person you are. Which shines through your essays, reccs and your extra cirriculars. So work on those and you’ll be fine.

I was accepted with a 2090 SAT which isn’t that impressive but I’d say I had a much better ECA side of me than my test scores.

You would have a chance, where are you from? Country would matter some, too. If you could up your SATs (I and II) that would do you a good favor, your ECs seem interesting.

That’s good to know that Carleton puts a large emphasis on personality. What qualities do you think Carleton is looking for ?

I am from Vietnam ( I am not sure if it is underrepresented at Carleton, I know this year 1 got in). What do you think is a decent SAT for Carleton ? I am trying to get at least 2100, if I can 2200 is my goal.

Check this out for SAT scores: https://apps.carleton.edu/admissions/apply/requirements/2012Profile/2012facts/

As long as your SATs are above 2000 and you have a decent range of ECAs and it shows what kind of person you are. I think you’ll have a chance.

Good luck!

As an international applying for aid, try to get that SAT as high as you possibly can. Unfortunately, Carleton is not need-blind for internationals. Everything else looks good to go.

This year has been hard on internationals asking for fin. aid, I hear. Carleton gets several applicants from Vn every year, and usually takes one. Try to get 2100-2200+, work on all that is under your control (essays etc.) and hope for the best.
