Would I have less chance to get into UC's if I went to CCC for four years?

Hi everyone!
Sooo I got into UC’s for fall 2020, and decided to attend UC Davis.

However, due to coronavirus, me regretting not even applying to UC top tier schools (Berkeley and LA), and wanting to take some classes I’ve been wanting to, I would like to stay at CC one more year. But if I do, I’ll be attending CC for 4 years.
Plus, if I was admitted to UC’s, would I have higher chances to be re-admitted to those schools again?

It will depend upon your GPA and completion of your GE and major prep requirements. No guarantees that if you were accepted this year, that you will be accepted next year unless you TAG.

Thanks for the super fast reply!! I did finish all the GE and major preps, but like do UC’s see negatively if a student spent four years at CC? because people usually spend 2 or 3 years at most.

@Gumbymom

No, it will not be a negative if you spend 4 years at a CC. Many applicants can only take a few classes at a time and have to work so there is no time limit on your time spent at a CC. However, I believe it will be more competitive next year for Transfers since many transfers are staying an additional year at their CC due to mainly on-line classes at the UC’s along with taking a Gap year due to Covid.

If you qualify for TAG at Davis then your admission is guaranteed. If you don’t qualify for TAG due to GPA then your chances of getting into Berkeley and LA may be very low anyway.

They do not look negatively upon it under any circumstances, as they know transfers have other responsibilities (jobs, family, etc) and COVID-19 even adds more reason. Go for it! ?

@Gumbymom That’s what I 'm worried about the most :((
Thank you so much for your help always!!

@Ohm888 Thank you very much!!!
