Would I have to take an engineering class to get into UT's Engineering school?

It lists ENGR 2301 and 2332 on the recommended for transfer guide on mechanical engineering. I don't think I will be able to take ENGR 2301 until next year when I finish the prerequisites, but I am planning on transferring within a year since my family is moving to Austin. Would not taking ENGR 2301 and 2332 be major factor on if I get accepted or not?

It’s not a deal breaker. Cockrell places preference on those who have completed the Calculus and Physics sequences for transfer. So if you’re going to take anything, take those. Also, you can go to Cockrell’s webpage ([Departments & Programs - Cockrell School of Engineering](<a href=“UT Cockrell School of Engineering”>UT Cockrell School of Engineering)) to see if there is anything else that is program specific, i.e. petro, chem, mech, that you may want to complete. There is some good info there.
