Legacy
brother and sister graduated Harvard Undergrad is that legacy?

so... what do you think?
anything i should try to do better, add something to my app, etc...

No, the fact that your brother and sister graduated Harvard does not count as a legacy. You have a good of a chance as any person. You have a great academic profile; however, as many others have stated, as long as the AdCom believes you can "do the work" at Harvard, they look at subjective factors. Harvard, as NorthstarMom and Byerly have pointed out, take kids that the AdCom will know will contribute to Harvard in a way that it wants. Honestly, even with RSI (if you are accepted), as another thread suggests, it is not a guarantee you will be accepted to Harvard. But go for it! Who knows? Your work might pay off and you might reach your goal.

Yeah, uhm, as a current Harvard applicant...you make me depressed about my chances. I don't really see anything you could be doing better--just don't be horribly snotty or offensive or anything, and you're as good as you can be. Which doesn't mean you're in, but does mean you've got a good shot at it.

why harvard?
well, i had two siblings that went there so I got to spent a decent amount of time on campus visiting them
i think the main reason i want to go there is because i feel the people are exactly like me, they think and act like me, i guess i just feel like i belong there lol
i think id have the best experience i can there and going anywhere else would feel like settling
on a less important note, i want to get an awesome undergrad education and harvard is obviously the best place to do that, id go to MIT but i feel thats more science oriented and i dont know if that's who i am yet

wow ive got to remember this when i get interviewed lol

Why would you want to go to college with people exactly like you, who think and act like you? Be careful, colleges are looking for people who think and act like no one else on campus.

No hope. None at all. I think maybe Cambridge Community College would be a better fit.

Come on now. You'll be fine Relax.

I'm mean seriously, do what joemama said, sex drugs and rock and roll; take a day off (only a day though), rest ur feet. Watch a movie. Then get back to work.

i want to get an awesome undergrad education and harvard is obviously the best place to do that

r u so sure about that? i think there's pretty much a consensus that harvard doesn't pay too much attention to its undergrads compared to its grad students, whereas yale and pton offer a much better undergrad education.

social pariah is very much correct on that point. Harvard has twice as many grad students as undergrad. If you want a focus on undergrad education, dartmouth or princeton are your best bets.

ah w/e i just really want to go to harvard, i cant really explain why its like pulling at me
and dont worry, i spent my freshman year making sure i had a social life and my grades suffered cause of that lol
i wouldnt want to go to harvard if it meant i was a nervous overachiever, it definitely wouldnt be worth it, im as lax as can be while still getting good grades

Don't you talk with your brother and sister?
of course, while they acknowledge that im much smarter than them they dont think im going to get in because i dont have excellent grades or anything really special about me, thats why i was thinking i would try to start a film club and maybe direct a movie or something, ive always be really interested in movies and film

for the cyprus research i had teacher connections but for the russia stuff i applied to the KEI program
