Would it be a bad idea to write my own Supplemental Recommendation?

I was printing off the University of Chicago Suppliment for an art portfolio when the Supplemental Reccomendation caught my eye. They ask for comments on "the applicant's habits of study, grasp of material, analytical ability, ability ot engage in discussion, motivation, and intellectual interests."

I felt that I could very well and easily write something that both pushes me up and pushes me down, yet though it might be unique/interesting to write from such a perspective. I would of course conced that I wrote it and perhaps even explain myself.

Is this a totally horrid and bad idea?

um, i think that would just be weird. can't you show who you are and all that through your essays?

Yeah, that would be a bad idea. The point of recs is to get the admissions office an outside perspective on you.

Yeah, I didnt know if I could make it weird, witty, but oh well. Thank you for the input.

You writing about yourself would be extremely biased by the very nature of it! Colleges want, as another poster said, an outside source about you.

Hmm, I had planned on being rather light, if not even a little bit overly negative and bitter about myself (A satire of sorts), yet I suppose this has wayyy to many opportunities to backfire on me, so:

Operation terminated.
