Would it be a waste of time to do Yale EA?

hi, you just critiqued my piece, so i thought i’d return you a favor.

well i definitely think you have a shot at Yale EA. I guess it comes down to how committed are you to Columbia? Because if you’re willing to pass up the Columbia ED, I think you might have a fair shot at Yale, but I feel like your best chance would be to go with Yale early, just because how cutthroat Yale is.

Have you considered Brown University? I know it’s not quite as high ranked as Columbia, but Brown is really phenomonal for those who have alot of intellectual pursuits. And your interests seem to be a bit varied, which I think could be nurtured there. I’m not saying to apply there early, but I definitely do think you should consider it for Reg, just in case.

Great SAT scores. I mean you could retake it just for those ten points to make it a solid 2300, but it might be unneccesary. The reason I’m saying that maybe you should retake it is as much as there would only be a 10 point difference, I can see them viewing anything 2300 and higher very respectfully. But I could be rambling now, so don’t worry.

Anyways good luck to whatever you decide.

I didn’t realize being ranked #7 (ahead of Columbia) in Math by US News was “pretty bad.” Besides, at the undergraduate level, it doesn’t matter so much.
