Would it be bad to apply as a CS major or Computer Engineering major without having taken AP Chemistry

I want to go to UMD for either CS or engineering, but it’s very competitive there. Would it be bad if I applied without having taken AP Chemistry? The courses I took in high school are: AP Bio, AP CSA, AP Psychology, AP English Language, AP Calculus AB, AP Human Geography, and AP English Literature. I also took honors English for 9th and 10th grade and honors biology, chemistry, and physics.

You are going to get similar answers to when you asked this about applying as an ME.

If you have taken some level of bio, chem, and physics and one of those at an AP level, you should be fine. That said, I think AP chem or AP physics (or both) would have been more helpful than AP bio for your intended major. Sounds like that is water under the bridge though.

Good luck!

Not a deal breaker in my opinion, but the bigger issue is that you are applying in RD and UMD fills up 90%+ of their class in EA. So that’s a much larger disadvantage.
