Right now i have a 3.1 UW 3.9W and a 1750 on the sat, but i am taking college courses dual enrolled would it be better to take one more year of community college then transfer since my College gpa is a 3.7 or just try and go to a school now? I am currently a senior dual enrolled.

anyone?

Neither is better. The Community College grades will be noticed by admissions and may help your case. Vigorously search out four-year colleges you want to go to and apply to them. When the results come in, add in the community colleges to your decision matrix. Figure it out then.

I heard that if i take CC classes i can get into more selective universities like around now i already have 30 credits from 2 years while taking high school and college classes. So i have around 1 year full time college under my belt im saying that would they still consider my high school grades or would i be able to come in as a junior or sophmore and they would completely look at my college gpa which is much higher.

You’ll be surprised at how many colleges you can get in with your stats! Especially considering that you are dual-enrolled.

Why don’t you consider transferring right away? If you have 30 credits already, you may be eligible to enter as a sophomore at your state school or some OOS schools.

Either way works, but I’d make sure that those credits don’t go to waste!

Thanks!

If you’re lucky enough to live in VA and you finish two years of CC with a 3.5 GPA you are automatically admitted to UVA or W&M. The other state universities require a lower GPA. It’s called a reciprocal agreement. You have to stay on top of the freshman and sophomore requirements of the targeted university. I think several other states have similar programs.

Check your target four year schools to see how well your CC’s courses will transfer there in terms of subject credit. State universities often have admission agreements and transfer credit agreements with same-state CCs.

There are some four year schools that may be possibilities for large scholarships:

I say go to a CC first, idk if moneys the case but its so much cheaper and it doesn’t matter where you start it matters where you end. Plus classes at a cc are most likely easier than at a 4 year so your gpa will be so much higher and you will be able to attend a more prestigious school and get into better programs.
