Right now, I’m not planning on taking any kind of extracurricular sports, would it reduce my chances or seem bad for UCs or colleges in general?

It depends if you have enough other extracurriculars. I didn't do a sport and I was fine, but I still had a healthy number of ECs in general. If having a sport would inconvenience you and impact your academics, then opt for something else, but you can't necessarily expect to get into schools easily without any extracurriculars, barring a stellar GPA and extraordinary test scores.

I know lots of kids with no sports who get into the top UC's, but one thing they all have in common are high gpa's in rigorous classes.
