If I took the ACTs but don't want to spend money sending the scores in (since my SAT scores have improved), do I still have to indicate on the UC application that I've taken it? Or should I just check the box saying I haven't taken the ACTs?

If you want to be honest, it would make sense to indicate you have taken the ACT test. One way or another, the school won’t ask you for your ACT score report, unless no other score report has been reported. What I mean by that is, the school does not have a score report from a testing agency and will ask you to send one in from the ACT or SAT. Essentially, this area of the application is letting the school know if you have taken a standardized test or not.
