I know the max that colleges ever require is 3... but I was just curious how many other people generally take. I want to go into engineering, so would it be pointless to take the SAT II spanish? I'm also taking bio, math and physics.

Colleges normally consider you top 3 SAT II scores, so I guess someone with a lower SAT II score may decide to take another one to get a higher score. For an engineering applicant, Biology, Math IIC and Physics should be fine (along with the new SAT. If you took the old SAT, you'll need to have an old SAT II Writing score or take the new SAT). I would only take the Spanish test if it could be used for placement or course credit.
