Hello Collegiates,
I was wondering if it seemed possible that I petition my C grade for a intro to Statistics class taken in the summer, with the reason being that I’d gone through a car crash, resulting to losing my efficient means of transportation, and also would like to take the class to refresh my memory on the subject as it seems as though Statistics is one of the many foundations in mathematics. Which is considerably important what with my mind being set in either majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or Psychology.
If you are going to retake it, then I assume you wouldn’t need to petition your grade. During the summer, if you really had no way to get to campus, you perhaps should have discussed getting a W with your prof, but it seems like it would be too late now and your excuse might not have been viewed as a good one. You lost your efficient means of transportation, but by what inefficient ways could you have gotten to class?
I had started to bike to school which was an hours bike ride with a steady incline as my college is next to the mountains. I planned on retaking the course near the time of my transfer and having Statistics fresh on
my mind at transfer so I hadn’t yet petitioned for the grade. I plan on doing so this upcoming spring semester. To be quite honest, it’s uncomfortable for me to have to use excuses to petition a grade, or excuses in general for that matter. I’d just like a competitive GPA. At the moment, I am not content with the GPA I have.
Look into grade replacement. If your school has that, you can retake the course and replace the current grade with whatever you get in the 2nd one.
