would it be smart to take english at a community college?

Would it be smart to do that if I want to satisfy GEs and use the same college credit for Med Schools?

Hey, that's wut I'm thinkin too... as long as it's online hehe cuz I like to spend my summers elsewhere.
I think taking it at a JC would be less intense.

are there any JC's near West LA?

I'm not from LA, so sorry. Someone else is going to answer that.

I don't know if there's anything closer, but there's Santa Monica CC

SMC is going to be the closest.

And uh, just depends. As a CC transfer, I can say that my experience with lower divisions and GEs at my community college was much, much more difficult (in workload) than my experience with upper divs at UCLA. However, I'm a comm major, which I suspect makes a big difference.

Generally GE English anywhere isn't going to be too tough, but at the CC there will only be 20-40 people in your class instead of hundreds.

To be fair, English courses taught at UCLA (e.g. English Composition 3) aren't classes with "hundreds" of people; rather than being a lecture, the discussion section is the class itself, and these classes contain 20-30 people.

See, as a transfer, I have nooooo personal experience with ANY lower divs at UCLA. Thankfully.

ok, So I took English Composition at a CC last summer. Do I need to take Advance English Composition for med skool requirements?
