So im chilling at home and I started to wonder about the verbal section and it was definitely my weakest section on the SAT..I didn't do that poorly but there is definitely room for improvement. I'm not exactly sure what the MCAT verbal section entails but would it be a good idea to get myself a book and start looking at it now? I'm taking orgo next year and plan to take the test the summer after my sophomore year. I guess I could start looking at chem since I took AP (but am taking inorganic this year anyway)....but i mostly want to focus on the verbal section.

Yes, it would be totally stupid to get an MCAT book now. Those of us on this board who were successful MCAT takers did not start studying years in advance. I think I probably took the longest - January to the beginning of April - because that's the schedule my Kaplan course took.

If you would like to improve your verbal abilities, you can read several different magazines that are said to write in the style of the MCAT verbal passages. The only one I can remember off the top of my head is the Economist, but for fiction I think the New Yorker may also be helpful. I'm sure other people on this board can recommend other magazines that might be helpful to you.

ok..sounds good..thanks :)

i didnt really want to worry about it yet..haha and thats pretty much what my dad said..(that it was way too early..)

I'm a senior in high school and I get the MCAT question a day email. I do them on my iPhone just for kicks though. I'm not really studying for it I just like to do the questions.
