There is a difference! Respect the classics, man.

Also, it’s not like he’s carrying the records around campus. It’s just for his room, so having them there is no big deal.

I don’t think it’s “weird”…just impractical. I don’t even know anyone who brings CDs to school because there’s just no room for extra things like that; we all use iPods or our laptops. If it were me, I wouldn’t waste what little space I had on something that I wouldn’t use a lot – how many times are you going to listen to the same records repeatedly? – and that would take up coveted shelf space.

I listen to them quite often, daily. The space that it takes up is surprisingly small, and i can put stuff on top of it lol

i am really baffled by all the people who say they don’t even have room for things like cd’s. you can fit cd’s ANYWHERE. seriously. i don’t understand.

i live in a normal-sized dorm single and brought an entire nightstand, fridge, microwave, coffeemaker toaster, drying rack, book collection, printer, dishpan for dirty dishes, futon, and countless other things, and still have ample floor space. i could bring an entire shelf for cd’s if i wanted to. and i am serious, the rooms at my school are not that big. we’re all about quaker modest, everyone’s equal sort of living.

don’t listen to people who tell you the record player is “impractical” or that you won’t have room. unless you’ll be staying in a closet next year, if the record player is important to you, you will DEFINITELY be able to find space for it. and won’t regret it (unless someone steals it…).
