If I'm applying ED to Duke, would it hurt to only send my ACT score? I know people say that both the SAT and ACT are looked at equally but are they actually?

That’s a good question. My son applied to six schools, no ivies and only submitted Act scores. He was accepted to four, waitlisted at one and denied at one.
Make sure you check the admissions requirements on the website. Some tell you the percent who submitted ACT scores. If not, don’t be bashful, call and ask.
Good luck

When you say no ivies do you mean top-tier schools or instate schools because I know that some state schools have different preferences than schools like Duke

ALL schools accept both the SAT and ACT equally. The only thing to worry about is if a school requires SAT IIs even if you submit the ACT.

Nope, if your ACT score is better then your SAT score then send your ACT score. Point blank, colleges just want to see some form of a score so they can compare you to other students who applyed.
