Im an international student from riga, latvia (europe :)) so i don hve the possibilty to visite colleges that m thinkin to apply so m searchin for any kind of help inluding this thread!

Id really like to hear ur point of view bout these colleges:
Colgate U
Franklin/Marshall C
Gettysburg C
Macalester C
Reed C
Seattle Central CC
St Lawrence U
Whitman C

I must say m not the top of my class but i have planty of activities on my list and ive also done exchange year that i hope colleges would value. I love diversity and movement,so which colleges from this list u think wd be the best for me?

thanks a lot for devoting ur time!
lookin forward to ur replies!!

Reed and Whitman focus more on learning and intellectualism. They are very, very liberal schools. Colgate is known for producing graduates who go into business. Macalester is very international--it may be a good fit for you. I don't know much about the rest of the colleges.

Whitman College is the best school on this list, it's always ranked as having some of the best academics, best dorms, quality of living by the Princeton Review

Another thing you may want to keep in mind is many schools offer very little financial aid to international students. You may want to contact the school and confirm this.

Whitman College Reapers, Reed College Griffins, Franklin Marshall College Diplomats, and Macalster College Fighting Scots are more intellectual schools

Colgate University Raiders and Gettysburg College Bullets work hard and party hard

ok thanks,
i am a city person..but then it sounds like campuses offer a lot!
and i am afraid that if i ignore rural places i'll maybe miss my chance to find the perfect school for me..

Why not write to some of your favorites and ask if they can put you in email contact with any international students from Latvia or central Europe and see what they tell you about the transition and campus life. And don't rule out the rural schools to soon. The small ones with very active campus life can feel lively and welcoming when you are making such a big step around the world. They are often very motivated to bring in international students too, since being more remote often makes being more diverse harder...I know international students who have really loved Franklin and Marshall and Whitman

oooh thats a great idea!!
my college list has grown again but i'll try t reduce it again and i'll write them!!
thanks a lot!!
im really surprised how u ppl accually care to help others to find their colleges!!
its so nice!thank u
