would minoring in economics help?

For a structural engineering wanting to get into an MBA program? Engineering is my main priority so I'm probably not aiming for the top MBA programs but would a minor help me in my admissions? This is after years of experience though.

no, nobody would care. a minor in economics means nothing- the introductory economics classes are useless. (in fact all undergraduate economics classes are too basic and useless)

engineering is a great major to apply to bschool with, imo

I knew some humanities majors that minored in economics and I think that helped them, but already being involved in such quantitative studies would think it wouldn't be as important for you. However, if you have interest and can fit it in your schedule, it's not a bad minor to have and wouldn't exactly call it useless and to me would be a good balance with engineering.

No, it won't

I might have gone too far calling it usesless. If you only need two more classes or something or can easily complete the minor, you might as well go for it.
It may add marginal value but nothing significant worth measuring.
