you should really look into taking the math 2 sat subject test, but make sure you have taken pre-calculus. This is not a requirement, but I know if you are looking for an impressive SAT subject to take, math 2 is very prestigious.

looking at your SAT score, however, your math isn’t your strong suit, so think carefully about math 2. this totally depends on how much time you have, but i would suggest retaking. you are so close to 2000, and with a little bit of fire and extra dedication, you may be able to crack the 2000 mark, which will look impressive. Im not familiar of your extra cirriculars, but they seem very prestigious, and good letters always help. Make sure you have time for your essay, dont wait too long on that, Id say, with early decision, you have a pretty good shot at NYU, especially if you raise that SAT score to 2000

However, i dont know how being from India will help/hurt your chances, so i cant be sure. and I know a few bright kids who go to NYU Stern, and their test grades were excellent, so really look into retaking the SAT, and taking SAT subjects

good luck, and feel free to comment:

A few things:
- Are you full-pay? NYU has quite poor financial aid and I’m not sure if ANY is available for international applicants.
- Your SAT is a bit below-the-line for NYU. Usually >700 on each section would be expected.
- Grades are quite low. One would expect consistently 90+ grades.

Probably not if you are an international student.

Will you be applying for financial aid? NYU is need blind in admissions for US applicants, but I don’t know about international ones. A number of schools are need aware for internationals when they are not for US citizens. If NYU is need aware for internationals, and you are one, and have need, your chances will be very low.

I don’t understand what your grades are showing. What would they be on a 4.0 unweighted scale? Yes, SAT2s could help if they are high, and your test scores are low for NYU, especially for, say Stern. What is your anticipated major?
