Would Oklahoma be considered a rare geographic location for Yale?

Not even in the top 5 if you mean most and not the top 15 if you mean least:(

How many did OK and RI have?

I already gave OK’s number in post #2. RI is 17. The others that have less are between 11-14.

Oh, I guess I just assumed so since it’s usually underrepresented. Interesting.

They don’t have a lot at 30 but there at least 16 or more states with less. I didn’t even check all of them so it may be more. The top 3 understandably are NY, CA and CT. TX was also pretty high as was IL.

The most recent list is for class of 2015 (fall enrollement in 2011). Soth Dakota has zero follwoed by 1 student each for West Virginia, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota, and Wyoming. The top three are actually New York (178), California (169) and FOREIGN CONTRIES (155). Numbers for all states and territories can be found in the common data set.

My list is for all current students, not just the 2015 class. Also, I don’t know how you could classify all other countries under one category. Granted if you added up every other country it would be significant.

There are around 606 nationals (68 countries) if you count Canada but a third of those would be from Canada (66), United Kingdom (60), China (55) and India (36).

Every Institution has to report student data to the Department of Education so the detailed admission data can be found at IPEDS data center. Yake reports detailed geographic breakdown every year so you can keep track of the admission from each state from 2000 to 2011.
