Would one bad IN-Major grade early in my career really hurt me for graduate admissions?

So I’m a sophomore Stats major, and I’m considering adding a second major in Computational Modeling and Data Analytics. I will have a math minor regardless. I wanna go into Artificial Intelligence for Postgrad, but at a school like the University of Washington (DREAM PROGRAM) or Stanford or what not. I have a 3.7 GPA as of right now, and may finish with a 3.8 again this semester if I’m lucky. However, one class I am VERY worried about is Advanced Calc for Statistics. It’s a 4000 level class at my university, usually taken in your last two years. But would getting a C+/B my sophomore year hurt me compared to dropping it now, and getting a 4.0, and retaking it later and maybe pulling a B+/A when I have more Statistics classes under my belt?
I’m sorry if this was an annoying rant to read, but I just didn’t know if I should consider dropping the class before the deadline to do so w/o penalty on Oct. 1

Downsides of taking it now: lower grade on your record.
Downsides of dropping it now and taking it later: ??? Is there a reason you’re taking it now?

I’m taking it now because it’s only offered in the fall semester, and my adviser told me to get it out of the way since adding a second major in Computational Modeling will make my workload extremely difficult to do well in the class. I mean, I can still get an A in this class, but I’d say my best chance is a B.
