Would One Instance of Demerits/Detention Do Anything?

I've never gotten demerits or detention for anything, or even really gotten in trouble for anything, until today. It was really minimal and incredibly dumb, but I got demerits and detention time regardless. It was more of a thing where I had to be included because I was sorta "associated", the assistant principal even told me I would get less demerits and detention time because what I did wasn't really bad.

I think our school resets demerit count every year anyways, but wont that still be on my record? And most importantly, will this have any sort of effect on my chances pertaining to the college admission process?

I really hope my hard work isn't for nothing just because of something silly like this...

One isolated minor incident will not hurt you, as long as it doesn’t involve cheating or violence. Just be careful to explain it as an isolated incident that you have learned from.

I seriously doubt that Detentions are recorded on your Official Transcript.
Ask you guidance counselor.

Delinquents such as yourself will be rejected from any REAL school. Perhaps you should have thought about this before assaulting another student.

Yes, most college applications ask for suspensions, expulsions and criminal convictions. They don’t ask about demerits or detention.

Was just informed today that my demerits and detention time have been lifted. Guess they realized that I really didn’t do anything.

Thanks for the responses anyway. :)
