Hello all,

This is my first post - long time reader, but now that I've applied I'd like to get some feedback.

I had a 10 year break between high school and college, but so far I have 40cr at SCCC, and 5cr at BC - my cumulative GPA is 3.99 (I got one 3.9).

I have the old SAT test scores V-740 M-690

Former Board of Directors for Washington Realtors(R) 6 years real estate experience, currently working at a new position full time while I've been attending school. I wrote a pretty decent essay that kind of tells my story and touches on specific accomplishments.

I applied for Winter 2011 - I was going to apply for the Fall of 2010, but the admissions counselor told me that I shouldn't bother applying until I have 90cr. I later learned that that particular "counselor" was new...but it's got me very worried.

Thanks everyone!

It’s hard to judge since you’re not the typical “went to community college for a year after high school” case. Honestly, I don’t really know what they look for in transfer students with a history such as yours, but the grades and test scores look great of course. The only snag might be the 90 credit thing - they might want transfers to have just two years left for their degree at UW instead of three. If you don’t get in, I’d imagine that would be the reason, so if you stuck with the community college courses for another year (and maintained your great grades) and reapplied when you’re around 90 credits, you should be a sure thing.

Thanks for the feedback…yeah, I know my situation is kind of odd…one of those wait and see and maybe wait some more situations…I’m pretty confident that I’ll get into UW, it’s just a matter of when.

Compactrunner is right. They really do prefer someone with an associates and 90 transferable credits. See below:

Click on this link: [Transfer Enrollment Goals & Priorities — Requirements — Plan your Transfer — University of Washington](http://admit.washington.edu/Requirements/Transfer/Requirements/Priorities)

“Among community college transfer students, the highest admission priority is given to those with academic associate degrees and those with 90 transferable credits taken in preparation for a professional academic major. Applicants with fewer than 90 credits may also be admitted when early transfer is advisable, but the number of such transfers will remain small.”

If you don’t get in, I’d suggest waiting until you get accumulate 90 transferable credits, they also look to see if you’ve been adedquately been preparing for your intended major.
