Would relatively high SATs (2200) help a URM/worth retaking?

I got a 2200 (770V-720M-710W), but have heard that past a certain point, SATs are more of a thing to check off rather than a tipping factor. Is this different if you're a URM? And also, is it worth retaking? Assume this score for the top 10-20 colleges. (I've heard 2250+ is a better 'safe range'). I don't expect it to get me in, but I know it won't keep me out.

48 views . . . no response. BUMP.

I'm not completely certain what you mean. I'd say that it wouldn't hurt or help a URM. It's worth retaking ONLy if youre confident it'll rise.

My question is do URMs have better chances with high SATs than they usually would.

wait... ANYONE with "higher" SATs would do better than they usually would, that doesn't make much sense.

A URM with a lower SAT statistically has around the same chance as a non-URM with a slightly higher SAT, all other things being equal. Most of the time, anything above 2250 won't make any more difference (like 2260 vs 2290, for instance). Is that threshold statistically lower for an under-represented minority? Past 2200 does it actually make a difference?
