for example, freshman year i took 5 honors classes, and had 3 A-'s and 2 A's. Sophomore year i took 5 honors classes, i had 4 A-'s and 1 A. Junior Year I took 5 honors and 1 AP in the Ap i got an A and in the honors i got 3 A-'s and 2 A's. Senior Year I took 5 AP's, got 1 B and 2 A's and 2 A-'s. so how is weighted Gpa, according to MIchelled hernandez's website calculated? i would really appreciate any replies. thank you.

i don't know if it's the same for all schools, but for UC's, they just use an extra point for APs (up to 8 semesters), so if you got a B in an AP class you would calculate it as 4 points instead of three. So for weighted grades: A=5, B=4, C=3. You add up all your class grades (for regular courses A=4, B-3, C=2, D=1) and divide em by the number of classes. Yep, I think that's how ya do it!

If your school doesn't use it, then why bother?
