I need to improve my CR, and I am thinking of learning how to speed read, and hopefully increase my CR score. My CR score currently fluctuates between 650-740 in practice tests. Do you think speed reading will improve my CR?

No, I do not think so

Eh, if you’ve been taking practice tests and getting those scores because you can’t finish the questions within the time limit, picking up the pace won’t hurt you, but if you’re finishing in time I can’t see why rushing through the passages will help you at all.

I’ve been having difficulty with cr for a while now. When I tried speed reading, it made things worse because I had to rereading 80% of the passage to remember general ideas (lost time). I find that focusing on the passage and understanding what it’s about before answering any questions works best for me. I also feel like the main trick to doing well on cr is to pretend you’re really interested in the topic of the passage (it helps you focus).

Pretending can be really hard sometimes…

Speeding through is not gonna help because you will miss certain information.

You have to really understand the passage or the relevant section the question asks about. The thing I do is eliminate answers that are totally wrong. Instead of picking the right answer, I pick out the wrong answers and I am left with the right one.
Good luck!
