Would taking a course at a university effect admission chances?

Hello everyone,

I am a CCC student hoping to transfer to UCSD. I heard somewhere on here that universities in general don’t admit a lot of students who have taken classes in other universities which get me wondering. If, let’s say, I take a course or two at CSU Fresno and then transfer those courses into Fresno City College, would that lower my admission chances?
