I have a concern about the number of times I have taken the SAT. Technically I guess it would be my 4th time in October, but the first time I took it was in sophomore year when it was still only the M+V out of 1600. So I'm not sure if colleges count that SAT or not, but I did okay on it (1300). The next two times I took it were the ends of soph and Junior year, and they were the new SAT. Anyways, if I take it again in Oct. will colleges see this as the 3rd or 4th time? Do they even care about the old one?

they dont care how many times you take it

backfire

of course they care how many times you take it. I'm pretty sure that if colleges found out I took the test 6 times; they would reconsider acceptig me.

I think it's you're 4th time which doesn't look very good on college apps. Most people agree that 4 times is pushing it.

if you really think your score will improve then it is worth it no matter what- that said if you have a 2380 then a 4th time is not worth it lol

if you can improve your score. show them. they wont care if its your 6th time if you keep improving it my 100 points 1700 ->1800 ->1900 -> 2000 -> 2100 ->2200

Virtuoso, haha we have almost the same situation. I think that since colleges don't really take SAT scores from the old version (the 1600 scale) anymore, they probably won't regard your scores from that test when trying to determine your best composite score. I say, take it again, as long as you can improve. And unlike other posters, I'm giving you the advice that I am using myself.
