Of going to Brown over UF (the Gator school) for admission to a top MBA program? I really want to go to Brown, but it seems like going to UF and doing well (easier to do well due to it being a state school) may help me more in the long run.

Am I over analyzing this or is there ground I am on? Or am I wrong and Brown would actually better for undergrad to grad school?

It’s actually a good question and it’s good you’re asking as these are two very different schools. The answer depends entirely on your personality. Brown is a uniquely liberal school and it might be difficult getting the type of practical business work experience you need after graduating from Brown, but it is more prestigious than UF. UF is easier, and it would be easier to do well there, and students who perform well at large universities like UF usually go work for good companies and make great MBA candidates. UF is also more fun, and sorry to be crass but UF will have a lot more hot party girls, definitely something to keep in mind.

Also keep in mind you’re talking about something almost a decade down the road, and your plans will probably change by then.

Definitely true that my plans could change. But do you think UF would be better even if I majored in Economics and Math at Brown (assuming I get in)?
