I'm thinking of taking organic chemistry, vector calculus, and physics. I don't know if it will be hard, would it?

Well…yes, it would be hard. Those are three rather challenging classes. That said, it’s not unheard of. I took General Physics I, General Chemistry I, and Calculus I last fall, and then University Physics I, General Chemistry II, and Calculus II last spring. I also had Intro Anthropology and Spanish I during the fall, and General Cultural Anthropology and Spanish II during the spring.

It made for a very heavy, and challenging course load. I pulled through both semesters with my 4.0 intact. A lot of students can’t handle a course load like that, but it’s certainly doable.

What year are you in? What do people in your major typically do? What does your advisor say?

If those are your only 3 classes you should be fine if you’re a science major (you should know what you’re getting yourself into). However, I tried to not take more than 2 challenging classes per semester if I could help it (I have a BS in Physics) but I was “lazy.” I did 3 challenging classes in one semester a few times and it didn’t kill me.

Good luck!

I took Social Statistics/Lab and Social Psychology last semester and it pretty much killed my GPA. I can’t handle a load like that so I know for ME taking those classes wouldn’t cut it at all. If you’re used to taking classes like that and you think you’ll do fine then great, otherwise I’d reconsider taking all of them at once and I’d drop at least one.
