Would they know?

If I ED to one school, but do EA do lets say 2-3 other schools, would the school I ED to know? And would they care?

You’re allowed to apply both ED and EA - you just have to withdraw your EA apps if accepted to the ED school. Also, make sure your EA schools are unrestrictive (Georgetown, for example, doesn’t allow its applicants to apply ED to another school if they’re EAing Georgetown).

It depends on whether the ED program is restrictive or not. Brown for instance does not permit a student to apply ED to them and EA to another school, rolling is OK. From their website:

“Early Decision is reserved for applicants who have not applied to any other Early Decision or Early Action programs (Ivy League or non-Ivy League institutions). Brown reserves the right to withdraw the applications of Early Decision applicants who do so. You may, however, apply to other colleges at any time under their respective Regular Admission programs.”

You need to check the ED and EA policies of each school you are interested in, there is no universal answer.
