I took a history class (not required for major....just GE) as Pass No Pass option...and I think I will end up with a No Pass. Do I have to report this? Will this affect my admission?

please anyone...bump

Well, do you have a good reason for not passing it? If there was some crazy circumstance, I'm sure they'd understand.

it's a CR/NC class

If its for a GE, it will raise some eye brows. I would report it and ask rather than take the chance.

but I dunno if I should report it as "D or F"...it's a CR/NC class...*** do I do..god!!!

I think you should report it as soon as possible and probably they will give you options to solve the problem...(this is explicitly stated on their website)

Would it affect the admission or not? Only the UCLA admission committees can tell.

but is a no credit seen as a D or a F?

Personally, I believe they would look at it as, "why was this person unable to pass this class?"

Citan,

My personal advice; I would tell your professor that you have been accepted to UCLA for the Fall. In my own experience, no professors of mine would ever be cruel enough to fail me and jepordize my admission into a great university. I know many people will disagree with me for pulling this card but basically show them you are a committed student who is perhaps burnt out from your CC studies. Plead with them: ask for extra credit, visit them during office hours, do your best on the remaining assignments and tests. If you do all of this, I doubt your professor would have the heart to fail you especially since this class is cr/nc and not related to your major. I have seen these methods succeed at my cc time and time again.

Best wishes Citan =]

The bad thing is there's no more assignments or tests. I think Citan just finish finals.

Citan: I think a NC will weigh a lot less than you are thinking. No Credit < No Pass < F, D grades. Wasn't the conditions of our admissions to maintain a C average (2.0) gpa? A course taken for CR/NC has no affect on our gpa. But nevertheless, you still have to report your semester's grades. Report it as NC if that's the official grade you got; don't put D or F unless that was the official grade. You have to report your grades accurately anyways because UCLA might check them against your transcripts. If they find that gave them dishonest information, your admissions will definitely be revoked.

Citan,

I'd personally report it. Sooner or later they'll find out, and it's best that you tell them up front. Like other people have said, they'd probably find a way for you to work around it, or might just ask you why you didn't pass it. If you have a legit reason, they'll probably note it down, and tell you they look forward to seeing you in the fall. Plus if its a no-credit course, they'd probably shrug it off and tell you to work harder when you get to 'LA.

Best of luck mate, i'm sure everything'll work out just fine.

ah it's alright now...what happened was I missed a due date to turn in my final essay (I blame it on laziness to check the schedule and sophomoritis) it was worth 50% of the grade so I thought I was going to get a F...hence a NC...anyway I talked to my teacher and he said to turn it in...I guess Im okay now

Glad things worked out; telling your teacher was a good idea.

I was getting a NC in my math class, but as soon as I told my teacher that I got into Cal, he let me come in and retake the final with him helping me. It was awesome.

yea they don't want to feel guilty lol

damn, i wish i went to a community college.
