So I took the AP Human Geo exam this year and I got a 3 (I'm sure you've read my b*tching posts). I was wondering whether you think the following warrants a 3:

Multiple choice section: I'm guessing I got 65% right
FRQ section: I aced the first 2 FRQs. The last one I sort of BSed. I wrote on a year out of the given time period.

So does this equal a 3? Especially since the cut off for a 5 is 58.3%?

I was reading rescore stories and saw that sometimes CollegeBoard forgets to add in the MC score to the FRQ section. Would getting a 66% on the FRQ with a 0% on MC equal a 3?

If a remember correctly, the curve for a 3 on this test is something like 37%, or 44 points. 66% of the frq
s is 40 points- a 2. I really don
t think the curve was any easier this year, so maybe you made a lot of simple mistakes or got off track early on the mcq`s. Even so, you may want a rescore.

So considering you screwed up a whole FRQ (which may have led to getting 0 credit for it due to the fact your wrote outside of the scope of the question) and you only got around 65% on the MC, I would say there is not anything wrong with their grading.

The other thing is, many people can say they completely aced an FRQ, but chances are you didnt get the full credit on both questions. Now, this could be wrong, but then again, it is hard for the test taker to judge themselves because they usually err in their own favor.

My APHG teacher warned us before we took the test that if anyone screwed up an entire FRQ they would not make a 4 or 5. So I think that your grade is right. But I can’t help feeling sorry for you making a 3 while I screwed up most of the MC portion and made a 5. But in retrospect the only thing that you can do is stop thinking about it. Most universities do not award credit for APHG. You don’t have to report it and there will always be next year.
