Would this be a good choice?

I want to go to Rosemont College simply because it's 16 grand a year. IF i get into the combined degree program with Drexel, I'll only have to pay 16*3=48 grand for my undergrad time. IF i don't get into the program w/Drexel (BS/MD 7 year program), then I'll have to pay 64 grand there. However, Rosemont College kinda sucks, socially and academically. I mean it's a half-hour from philadelphia but I'm not sure if i like the student body that much. I mean I'm an Ivy qualified applicant but there is where i may have to go for financial reasons. All i care about now is getting in to a top medical school but do you think that going to rosemont college would hinder my chances? I know that undergrad isn't as important as much as what you do there but would i be disadvantaged by going to SUCH a crappy school?

Please respond someone! I’m crying so much b/c I got rejected to every ivy.

bump please

HELP!!! God damn it!!!

Please don’t cry. I don’t know the answer to your question, but I don’t want you to cry any more. :(

Medical school admissions is more about your GPA and your MCAT scores than it is about the name on your diploma. If Rosemont is your most affordable option, it will be a perfectly fine place for you to start.

You seem to be truly disturbed about attending Rosemont. Do you have any other options that are reasonably affordable? Would it make sense for you to take a gap year so that you can apply to a wider range of colleges and universities? If you are truly “ivy qualified” there may be other places that would offer you a good merit package. Start with the places in this thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/848226-important-links-automatic-guaranteed-merit-scholarships.html

People who don’t go to Ivy’s or the top schools still get into med school. If med school is really your goal than it doesn’t matter what college you go to as long as you get the top GPA and MCAT score. I am sure there are people from Rosemont who get into med school.

I got into the drexel/rosemont program so I will probably be going there. As far as the social aspect is concerned, I plan on spending the majority of my free time at drexel/penn because I heard that rosemont doesn’t have a good social life.
