Would this be a good move? could it hurt me?

I'm going to senior year next year and I plan to go to IB but since my school's IB is really new and the courses are very minimal, I've been considering transferring to an all-IB private school. I plan on applying to top colleges. My main concern is ECs. since we have a 3year HS system here, my 9th grade year included only 1 in-school EC(my junior high didn't offer many ECs). 10th grade took me into a social depression for various reasons. I really have to make up for my in-activity in the next two years but since this all-IB school is small in population, the ECs aren't as plentiful as in my current school.

would moving be a good move?

Could you stay at your current school and take AP classes?

Also, ECs can just as easily be out of school as they can be in.

No AP in my school, or any school in the province for that matter(Canada)

k thnx for telling my ECs don't have to be in school
I am going to join any EC I can(that interests me) but my main concern is with student council, I wanted to run next year but since no onw will know me in the new school...I really don't know.I'm not popular in my current school either(I don't go to parties and drink and stuff) so it's a hard choice.

I say go to the all-IB school. Class rigor is more important than ECs, which you can do outside of school anyways.

If there are no APs then I agree with rmadden, go to the all-IB school. You can always do ECs out of school.

Remember though, go wherever make you happy. Colleges will evaluate you within the context of your school. If you only have X amount of IB classes then the colleges won't punish you for only taking that amount.

Good luck!

yeah. my current school has IB as well but since it is only 2 years old, you have very little choice in what you can take. leadership positions is what I need right now and I think they'll be hard to get if I go to a new school though...

I'm leaning towards going to the all-ib school though

EDIT also, since I am going to have attended 3 schools in "high school"(my juniour high for grade 9, my current HS for 10, and the grammar school for 11,12) how does that play out in getting transcripts, GC recs, school reports etc. do i need a school report from each school?

^ That is good. Shoot for the IB diploma at the new school. Also, just do alot of community service or get a job to help make up for your lack of ECs. :)
