Would this be bad? (Scheduling issue)

I'm a junior and we have to select our courses for next year and I wanted to be subjected to the overwhelming intellectual insight projected at CC :)

My proposed classes for next year are:

AP English IV
AP Physics C
AP Calc BC
Regular gov/econ (they offer AP gov, but no ap econ. Gov is the hardest course at our school and im more of a math/science guy and that is reflected in the majors im going to apply for)
ASB (student gov)
Photo I (have to take an art to graduate)

I'm planning on taking regular gov 0 period so I can get a period release.

Here's the kicker:

There may be scheduling issues with ASB and AP Physics so I might not take ASB.

Would it be bad having double period release for top colleges? I'm planning on applying ED to Penn

my junior sched is

ap chem lab
ap chem lecture
ap english III
ap computer science
ap ush
math analysis honors

crazy…no one takes more than 3 AP’s in my high school

^your school is crazy =)

I really doubt that we’re actually in the same school
just kidding, but I also have Scheduling issue the same as yours.
Take it easy, you’ve already done a good job

Colleges don’t look at the actual time classes meet. If you’re taking one at 0 period instead of a 6 or 7 period class, who cares? They’re just going to look at the actual classes you take and what you get in them–as well as performance on the AP tests.

By the way, AP Physics should definitely be taken instead of student government. And this is the first time that I have ever heard of an extra-curricular activity (ASB) being offered during a class period. Maybe they can move your meetings to after school.

we have after school meetings also  It’s a huge time commitment.

thanks for the advice guys

I see no problem with a period or two release. I took a free period so I could leave school an hour and a half early this year and it worked out for me.
