Would this be Good for Haas?

I was thinking about taking up an internship with a state assemblyman. Would that be a good thing to have on my resume for Haas? because its not necessarily finance or business related.

Depends if he’s a liberal or conservative

No. It would screw up your application to Haas beyond repair.

it definitely wouldn’t look bad…though i don’t think it would help very much either…unless u can somehow exhibit some kind of leadership abilities through that internship…which doesn’t seem likely…i think they look for leadership or immersion in a business discipline…

they might also like it if you show you have proven record of having a passion for politics or public policy or something like that along with business, if that’s the case, then it probably would help

I got a business paid internship at NASA. I’m basically a glorified secretary for the MIT/Stanford graduate engineers here. I also do some minor accounting. I’m sure you can find something business/managerial related for most internships but try to get one with a big-name company or firm.

how do you go about finding/getting them when your just at a ccc?

so this internship is probably no good? alright ill keep looking.

yes any internship will help

eh, I spoke to my friend who is currently pre-Haas up at Cal and he said it would just be alright, but " some progress is better then no progress"

I have to chime in. I got into Haas last year as a transfer. Yes, I did start my own business, but I proudly put my internship on my resume which was 6 years of service for a LA County Supervisor. And yes, I proudly stated REPUBLICAN CLUB. It doesn’t matter. Some of you are a little funny.
